Required Training, Knowledge, and Experience:
. Strong electromechanical skills as typically evidenced by 10 to 15 years of successful laboratory experience in a related field.
. An advanced degree or certificate in mechanical or electronic technology or other post high school technical education, including
military training is preferred.
. Experience in data analysis and decision making based on empirical data.
. Regular and predictable attendance.
. Strong organizational and project management abilities
. Proficient recordkeeping & technical writing skills
. Proficiency in Excel and/or other data analysis tools.
Critical Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds and frequently carries up to 30 pounds.
. Maneuvers in, around, and about factory and/or laboratory equipment on a regular and continuous basis.
. Majority of work time is spent standing, walking, lifting, and bending.
. Works within a test facility, office, and laboratory setting and is exposed to heat, cold, wet, and fumes/chemicals.
. May be required to travel to other test facilities, vendor, and customer sites worldwide.

Job Title: Senior Technician
Primary Purpose of the Job: Builds and performs tests on systems and components to determine operability, performance, quality, and
suitability. Troubleshoots, repairs, and modifies systems and components as appropriate. (May have a title, which describes an area of
specialty, such as electronics, electrical, mechanical, chemical, and metallurgical.)
. Operates standard equipment in test and process environments to conduct work requiring precision and strict observations.
. Follows prescribed work methods in accomplishment of assignments. Maintains proper and appropriate record and files.
. Inspects, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, modifies, and suggests applications of standard or non-standard techniques.
. Suggests design changes, test modifications or recommends improvements in design, testing methods or materials.
. Functions with general direction and little day-to-day supervision on complex programs involving various equipment and
. Interfaces directly with customers
. Assists other technicians with their tests set up and interpretation of instruction and technical engineering or design requirements.
. Performs such individual assignments as supervisors and superiors may direct; ensures adequate and continuous controls are
exercised over all assigned activities affecting quality; establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department,
the test facility, and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge, and skill necessary for the satisfactory
performance of all assigned responsibilities.
