The Senior Associate Scientist will be a member of the Immunology Discovery group in a fast paced, highly matrixed and interactive environment. This group is focused on discovering novel small molecules and biologics therapies to treat autoimmune diseases, such as Systemic Lupus Erythematosus and Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Primary technical responsibilities include routine lab operations, technical writing, data presentations and other duties as needed. Candidates should be self-motivated, capable of working independently, and have strong quantitative skills. Excellent communication and organizational skills to work collaboratively are essential in this role. Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Independently design experiments and draft study protocol based on team needs
  • Prioritize, schedule and complete the experiments within pre-defined timelines
  • Accurately capture data in a timely manner, including maintenance of detailed records and electronic notebooks in compliance with data integrity requirements
  • Contribute to technical sections of discovery reports or other submission documents
  • Optimize or trouble shoot assays as well as data analysis, and provide technical support to other team members as needed
  • Summarize multiple studies and present progress to project teams
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and instruments


  • A B.S. with 5 years of relevant industry experience OR a M.S. with 3 years of relevant industry experience is required

  • Proficiency with cellular immunology techniques including isolation, activation and profiling of primary immune cells is required
  • Proficiency with cytokine analysis techniques including ELISA, Luminex and MSD and molecular biology techniques including real-time RT-PCR is required
  • Experience in developing, performing and trouble-shooting cell-based assays for compound screening and mechanistic studies is required
  • Experience with immune phenotyping using multi-color Flow Cytometry is preferred
  • A background in research in immunology and experiences in inflammatory diseases (ie: rheumatoid arthritis or lupus) is preferred
