Responsibilities include performing laboratory analysis of re-refined oil and used oil, as well as sample storage and other related tasks in a Lab Technician role.
-Sample preparation and analysis of a variety of materials including used oil and unknown samples for identification. It includes analyzing refinery in-process samples throughout the re-refining process and certifying finished lubricants for sale.
-Analytical methods include GC analysis for VOCs, PCBs, HVOCs and Sim Dist, XRF for total chlorine, ICP for metals, flash point, viscometry, density measurement, pH, pour point testing, Karl Fisher water analysis, and Noack volatility.
-Perform data entry into the lab information system database. Completion of all logs and records related to analysis
-Maintain housekeeping standards.
-Perform special assignments such as handling toxic chemicals safely in accordance with regulations
