As a Chemical Lab Technician, you will be tasked with conducting chemical laboratory tests in support of Kodak’s internal businesses as well as our growing custom manufacturing business.  This includes setting up chemical experiments, building and operating laboratory scale process equipment, recording data, collecting and analyzing samples. This individual will have responsibilities within a synthetic chemistry lab working closely with both manufacturing and our new business development team.  We are seeking an individual with the flexibility to work on the bench, perform uses test evaluations, and run our model reactor scale up equipment. 

  • Set up and conduct chemical laboratory processes in support of chemical development and solvent recovery operations.
  • Practice safe chemical handling and operation of bench scale reactors, scale-up equipment and distillation columns.
  • Maintain and repair lab equipment, practice good house-keeping of the laboratory
  • Keep accurate records and data for projects
  • Participate in and complete company-required safety and training programs
  • Utilize strong mechanical and trouble-shooting skills
  • Meet demanding project timelines and productivity pressures
  • Organize work load in a manner that maximizes work efficiency without sacrificing quality
  • Work individually and on teams
  • Associate’s Degree in Chemical Technology and 0-3 years of relevant experience
  • 3-5 years industrial research experience in a chemical process development laboratory setting or similar work environment
  • Proficient with regards to organizing, recording and summarizing data
  • Must have a strong level of proficiency in Microsoft office products, especially excel
  • Experience with Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing concepts.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control.
  • Knowledge of design of experiments (DOE)
  • Familiarity with Mettler Toledo model Lab Max equipment is a plus but not required.
