Job Description:

Summary

Coordinate with other Quality Control chemists, R&D researchers and formulation specialists and other manufacturing departments to ensure high quality standards are always met.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position:

  1. Follow cGMP, cGLP, and OSHA guidelines with regard to work practices and safety
  2. Analyze raw, intermediate, final product and stability samples per compendial guidelines
  3. Qualify, calibrate, and maintain chemical laboratory equipment
  4. Write, review, and revise Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), as required
  5. Review and revise laboratory systems
  6. Peer review data and reports
  7. General laboratory maintenance
  8. Other duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities Required:

  1. 2 years experience with  analytical method development and validations
  2. 5 years experience in USP method of analysis
  3. Minimum of 2 years experience preparing cGMP and other laboratory documents
  4. Proficient in chromatography software
  5. 2 years of experience with cGMP and FDA regulations
  6. Excellent organizational skills
  7. Effective communication both verbally and written
  8. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry with a minimum of seven (7) years of laboratory experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry; Master’s degree in Chemistry with a minimum of three (3) years laboratory experience, preferably in the  pharmaceutical industry; Ph.D. with a minimum of two (2) years laboratory experience preferably in a pharmaceutical industry

Preferred Education and Experience:

  1. 5 years experience in HPLC handling
  2. 5 years experience troubleshooting the HPLC and GC
  3. Proficient in Chromeleon and Chemstation software
  4. 2 years experience with ICH, DEA, Head Space, and IC regulation knowledge
  5. BP, EP, and JP methods of analysis, all or some, preferred
  6. Experience in Nasal Spray analysis
