Job Description:

Laboratory Coordinator

The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate all activities that take place within the training facility, acting as the single point of contact for the facility. The individual will also be responsible for assisting customers (Pharmacists & Pharmacy Technicians) with compounding related inquiries as a technical support service representative.

The opportunity:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the laboratory

  • Act as a single point of contact for resolving laboratory related issues
  • Establish priorities and ensure adherence to schedules
  • Set up all materials required for program in advance of the course date
  • Clean and take down of lab post training programs
  • Monitor, maintain and support the physical condition of the lab space
  • Develop and maintain required Resource Manual and SOPs for facility

Customer Service - Receive and Interpret Client Requests

  • Verify status of client (full member, on-line member, corporate, etc.)
  • Enter request and submit to appropriate personnel within the department
  • Return calls and emails to clients with compounding answers
  • Conduct research as required to answer customer inquiries

Coordinate supply ordering, delivery and storage

  • Ensure appropriate inventory levels and maintain an accurate inventory database
  • Recommend and purchase equipment and materials as needed
  • Ensure proper waste management according to State laws

Other tasks

  • Coordinate F&B for catered events
  • Coordinate printing of materials required for training events
  • Coordinate cleaning of overall facility
  • Other tasks and projects as assigned

TRAVEL: Up to two (2) weeks per year to attend courses/training sessions.

Required Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills; fluent English (oral & written) required
  • Proven abilities to apply judgement, ethical practice and decision making skills
  • Ability to prepare and organize laboratory and demonstration materials
  • Excellent at troubleshooting and coming up with solutions
  • Demonstrates accountability through passion for excellence
  • Effectively prioritizes and delegates workload
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) required
Required Experience:
  • Two (2) to five (5) years' experience working in a similar position
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science related field is an asset
