Minimum Qualifications:

  • Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

  • Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information: able to attain Secret clearance.

  • At least a BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other related STEM discipline.

  • At least 2 years of related experience.

    • There are multiple levels associated with this opportunity category.
    • Candidates with advanced degrees and varied experience levels may be considered for alternative classifications).
    • Recent graduates with relevant project and/or internship experience will be considered.
  • Experience with scientific computing software to conduct research (e.g., MATLAB, PYTHON, etc.).

  • Experience with image processing, computer vision, and machine learning.

Ability to travel, if needed.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS degree or higher, in a STEM discipline.

  • Expertise with detection, tracking, and characterization algorithms for electro-optical and infrared imagery.

  • Extensive experience with airborne surveillance systems and electro-optical/infrared signal processing.

  • Strong capabilities using deep learning frameworks (e.g., CAFFE, TensorFlow, Etc.).

  • Experience with pattern recognition, signal analysis, data analytics and machine learning.

Infoscitex, a DCS company, is seeking a motivated Research Scientist to help advance our Computer Vision and Machine Learning objectives.  This is an opportunity to join a committed team of research professionals performing applied research for our Government customers at WPAFB. 

This position is located in Dayton, Ohio. Relocation assistance is available.


In this role, you could expect to create research plans to help the team and Government clients reach stated program goals.  In addition to performing applied research, both independently and with the team, you will periodically provide briefings to relate research progress and findings to teammates and clients; provide support to developmental teams to transition algorithms into productive systems; and likely publish and present significant findings at Academic and Government conferences.  To that end, some intermittent short-term travel could be anticipated.
