A High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required, with a 2-4
year degree in biology, chemistry or other food science related field
preferred. Reasoning skills are used in
almost all aspects of this job function. Using equations and understanding
calculations as well as working in Microsoft Office Programs such as Excel,
Word, and Access are also a required part of the job. This job is performed in
a manufacturing facility that is not temperature controlled. There are
numerous stairs and no elevators. Some laboratory work with
toxic/hazardous chemicals is required. Protective safety equipment must be used
as directed at all times. Daily expectations require long periods of standing,
walking, and working on methodology and reports can require a significant
amount of time at a computer station. Heavy lifting is required regularly (up
to 50 lbs.) with regard to products, ingredients (up to 420 lbs. with
mechanical assist), and supplies (varying weights). Some mechanical aptitude
and manual dexterity is required to find the cause of and arrange for the
repair of Equipment.

position is from 7 pm to 7 am and will work 2 days on followed by 2 days off, 3
on, 3 off, etc. Every other weekend.
Technician is involved with the successful daily operation of the plant and
laboratory. This ensures the superior quality of our product and a safety first
work environment. This requires collaboration and communication with plant
managers, operators, supervisors, and quality control technicians. Work is
documented thru entries onto sheets and books specified for each department.

and customer needs at all times.
