Position Title: ENVIRONMENTAL SPECIALIST (Full Time)
Location: North Carolina (Statewide with potential to work in or remotely with RK&K-Raleigh)

We are looking for employment of a self-motivated, experienced Environmental Specialist to work in or remotely, anywhere statewide, with RK&K-Raleigh to provide assistance on NCDOT projects with NCDOT Division Environmental Officers. Applicant must be familiar with the latest NCDOT Environmental Policies or similar experience with other North Carolina Environmental Agencies.
Responsibilities and capabilities include:
Capable of interpreting highway construction plans and specifications,
Capable of coordinating simultaneous tasks/projects,
Proficient communicating technical information,
Able to work closely with other design disciplines to determine most practical solutions,
Meeting and coordinating with multiple environmental agencies,
Perform Threatened and Endangered Species surveys,
Advancing projects through Sections 401 and 404 of the Clean Water Act,
Conducting jurisdictional wetland and stream delineations,
Preparation of Environmental Permit Application.

Minimum requirements include:
Previous experience includes 3+ years in natural resources;
BS or BA in Natural Resources, Ecology, Biology, Environmental Science;
Knowledge of plant ID, wildlife, wetlands, soils, and NEPA compliance;
Proficiency with MicroStation and AutoCad;
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software;
Overnight multiday trips possible;
Experience with NCDOT policies and procedures is a plus but not required.
